To Whom It May Concern / Love Letters

For the exhibition at Jiri Svestka Gallery in 2006 I suggested my guest Jesper Alvaer to exchange our records (Hi8 cassettes, mini dv). Video "To whom it may concern" which I presented there is a selection of love letters which were not written by me. I put them in chronological order (2000 - 2003) and without any modification of texts, except for their shortening, I tried to reconstruct the story which tells us something about writer`s daily life (in English, which is the original language it is not clear if it is a man or a woman). Film is almost entirely created by texts (except for 2 visual sequences which were necessary). They take turns and make a spectator involve a new way of perception which is not the same as one used when reading books, perceiving screens, films. Audio trace, almost unrecognizable (common silence:  street, terrace, walking the dog, travelling by train) is in contrast with described environment.
