Material, inorganic matter, artifacts and objects outlive us all. They are eternal. All this fabricated, lifeless substance, gains significance only once we assign it significance. Our thoughts and our memories form the soul of the substance. We are much more vulnerable, much more mortal. It is said that even people were envisioned to be created out of inorganic matter, but their tears prevented it. Humankind was formed of rock and tears. Human drive, the ability to make decisions and our susceptible body are in fact the cause of time. There are vegetative life forms, other simple organism, which are for the most part immortal. Our chance for individuality is in turn paid for by ageing and ultimate death.
