On the left side, in a coherent block an archive of my grandfather consisting of 85 framed original photographs of various formats is displayed. All these photographs were gathered by my grandfather during the years 1948 – 1962 when he was working on a publication about pigeon breeding.
Exhibited work “The creator” seemingly disproves but with its polarity towards the name of the exhibition actually shapes its key idea that is natural selection. The creator is about a human intervention into Natural Selection, questioning the inherent features of the evolution – gradual changes of hereditary characteristics within generations. It is about an effort to create new species in a short time span (during one human life) thus being in contradiction with the evolution itself. Despite many possibilities of the real time the creator can manifest a human desire to survive or to live forever. This manifestation of human insurgence towards transience is in fact in line with natural selection, it is inherent.
